London 7th June 2011. Now is the beta release of Sigma Suite (sigmasuite.com), the free SaaS CRM and total end to end business system providing all the modules wanted for a small business or start up.

Sigma Suite offers more of the things the market leaders give only it’s free . In summary it’s a total white label business system , it’s cloud hosted and is made of Customer Relationship Management, Order Management , Financial Tools, MIS, HR System as well as a live , integrated e-commerce system. In just less than a few minutes you can have it looking as your own, add suppliers, enter products, make staff profiles as well as enter clients, of course if clients register online then all the contact details are in the saas solution and they can also order products or services via the online public facing area.

Sigma Suite wasprimarily built by Maric Gregory, who’s background consists of writing enterprise level database systems and database marketing. He is an expert on enterprise-level solutions in the digital media space and has

written some of the largest multi-terabyte consumer databases in the UK. His key competencies and experience includes database systems, data warehouses, high performance data processing, large scale data processing, neural networks, grid computing, systems integration, project management, systems architecture and SaaS computing. Said Gregory: "As a start up business or a small business trying to compete in the current climate, fixed overheads can be a killer, we wanted to create something that allows the freedom to grow and develop"

Sigma Suite Key Features

Sigma Suite currently has six modules

Sigma CRM (Customer Relationship Management)

A customer can enter clients and suppliers here, create notes, see associated orders, invoices, make tasks and manage the sales pipeline through opportunities.

Sigma OM (Order Management)

Here you can view all the orders that have either been raised directly from a client or from an opportunity, you can create, edit, delete products and add these as order items to the main order. You can schedule dates and add notes.

Sigma HR (Human Resources)

Each member of staff has his / her own profile, the profiles by default are simply a name, but photos, job titles, office locations and role / responsibility descriptions can be added . This means people will be able to find the correct person they need to speak to easily in larger organisations . Staff can also add each other as contacts, allowing messages to be sent between teams etc.

Sigma FT (Financial Tools)

The financial tools allows you create invoices and purchase orders, it also shows you which are due and which are overdue.

Sigma MIS (Management Information System)

Since everything is central, live reporting across the business is extremely easy and correct. I’ve had a lot of bad experiences when the finance system gives 1 number but the order system gives another ! This problem has been taken away here which makes monthly reports very easy .

Sigma EC (E-Commerce)

All the products & services added in the order management system can be displayed on a public facing area of the solution, this allows you to set the price , customers can view your website, register (which of course adds them to the CRM), and add your products to either a wish list or to the shopping cart for later checkout.

Technology Profile

Main technologies

  • ASP.NET 4 (C#), giving security and performance via compiled application code instead of interpreted (php etc).

  • HTML 5 Application Cache, giving offline caching, reducing server load and improving performance

  • SQL Server 2008

  • Amazon EC2

Architecture

Sigma Suite was written on a highly optimised and secure tiered stack, consisting of (from top to bottom):

  • ASP.NET, JavaScript & JQuery Presentation Layer

  • C#.NET Application Code Behind

  • ASPX WebServices

  • C#.NET Business Logic Layer

  • C#.NET Data Access Layer

  • Secured Stored Procedures

  • SQL Server 2008 Database

  • Amazon EC2

The system stack was designed and built this way to give very tight security, very optimised performance and a very clean code structure allowing very fast future feature developments.

HTML 5 Offline Caching

Sigma Suite uses the new HTML 5 Application Cache as it allows your browser to locally store the static resources without having to load pages from the server every time.

SQL Server 2008

Binary indexing strategies taken from column database concepts, providing very fast information access over big data sets

Embedded .NET CLR dlls, giving .net functionality within the stored procedures for last data validation before saving to the database .

Webservices and API

The entire front end of Sigma Suite runs from a large list of ASP.NET webservices, this means they can allow API access to these services to give complete integration with current software or your own front ends to be built on top of the core technology.

Security

Security is a huge strength here as it’s the biggest concern when handling user information, especially when it's private company information. They've put in far more security steps than needed and things like SQL Injections, Cross Site Scripting, Encrypted user data are all of course taken care of .

Language support

The Microsoft Resource Files (Resx) are a nice way of providing multi language ability without having to have different versions of every page, it takes much of time to implement, but once it's done it makes adding any language very easy and as for clients changing between languages when ever they need want. There is also support for localisation - so months, date formats, currencies are also changed on the fly.

White Label

You can customise the logos, colours, images, change the CSS, set your html meta tags, use your own URL and more as well. There's nothing to stop you from branding Sigma Suite up as your own in as few as a couple of minutes.

Amazon EC2

EC2 was chosen for its big dynamic scalability and small cost. The ability to use unlimited mirrored servers means no matter what load there in on the systems , we never need to worry about the servers reaching capacity . Not only that, complete server backups can be taken in next to no time .
